Simple and Elegant New Year's Eve Table Design

The last few months of 2021 have been nothing short of a whirlwind over here. On top of a huge career shift, I also, unfortunately, came down with COVID right before Christmas, which means I’ve spent the past two weeks quarantining and not with my friends and family.

That being said, I’m definitely ready to get 2022 kicked off, and what better way to do that than host a beautiful yet intimate New Year's Eve dinner for me and my close friends! If you’re looking to host and gather your loved ones before the New Year then keep reading for all the inspo + a step-by-step to setting the dinner table of your dreams.

The Inspiration

I found this tablescape on Pinterest and was immediately inspired and what I wanted to base my look on. I love how simple yet elegant it feels with a neutral all-white theme and gold accents. Beautiful yet not overdone. Thankfully, Walmart Home has a plethora of festive finds when it comes to Holiday tabletop and entertaining picks. From stylish cutlery to special, decorative touches for the table, I was able to find so many pieces that made my tablescape so special. Keep reading to see my favorite picks from Walmart.

Materials:

  • Linen tablecloth

  • 4-5 bunches of greenery (I used dried olive branches)

  • One vessel for greenery

  • 2 gold candle stick holders (mine are from Walmart — so beautiful!)

  • Various sized candles

  • Plates and flatware (found beautiful gold flatware from Walmart and they are so good!)

  • Table linen napkins

Let’s Set the Table

  1. Add a linen tablecloth (if needed) — my tulip table isn’t that cute, so I grabbed one I already had to serve as a nice canvas for my table setting.

  2. Pick your plates and flatware — I went with white plates so that I could add in these beautiful gold flatware from Walmart. Simple yet elegant — I love it!

  3. Add in any table linens, like these natural beige napkins. These ones from Walmart are great!

  4. Add in any table decorative items (I loved how these gold candlestick holders complimented my flatware)

  5. Finish your table setting with some greenery — I added in dried olive branches to a vessel and on each plate for a more festive look.
